1. Who we are
IDO ("IDO", "we" or "us") provides one-to-one matchmaking, relationship coaching and member events for Chinese singles around the world. This website is operated by I DO International Pty Ltd. Our services in Singapore are provided by IDOICITY PTE. LTD.
This policy covers this website and the information you give us through it, including our booking form and singles sign-up page. If you become a member, your membership agreement also applies to how we handle your information.
2. What we collect
Information you give us: your name, gender, year of birth, country and city, whether you plan to stay there long term, relationship status, what you're looking for in a partner, your contact details (WeChat ID, phone or email), the best time to reach you and any notes you add. The form also records your device's time zone so we can contact you at a convenient time.
Information from our service: your conversations with our team, date arrangements and your feedback on introductions. For members, this also includes the photos and verification documents you provide.
Information from your visit: when you visited, your browser type and which link or ad brought you to our site. This helps us understand which channels are genuinely useful.
Dating snapshot quiz: your quiz results are worked out in your browser. We never receive your answers.
3. How we use it
- To have a consultant contact you, understand your situation and look for suitable matches
- With your consent, to introduce your basic profile to potential matches
- To let you know about events in your city (you can opt out at any time)
- To answer your questions and improve our service and website
- To measure how well our ads work, so we spend where it counts
We never sell or rent your personal information or use it for anything unrelated to our service.
4. Who can see it
- The IDO team: only the consultants, matchmakers and coaches looking after you, and only as their work requires
- Potential matches: only the basics. Contact details are shared once you both agree to meet
- Service providers: such as website hosting, email and scheduling tools, only as far as needed to provide their service
- Legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, or where it's genuinely needed to protect someone's safety
5. Member photos and stories
All member photos, videos and stories on this site are shared with permission. We never publish members' real names. If you appear on the site and want to withdraw your permission, just contact us and we'll take it down as soon as possible.
6. Cookies and ad tracking
If you reach our site through an ad on Facebook, Instagram or Google, those platforms may place an identifier in your browser to count how many enquiries the ad brought in. We can't see what you do on other sites. You can switch this tracking off in your browser or in each platform's ad settings.
We use Google Fonts to display text. Member videos are hosted on YouTube, which handles any information under its own privacy policy once you press play.
7. Where it's stored
Your details are stored in IDO's own customer relationship management (CRM) system, on servers in Australia. Our team works across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the US and Canada, so colleagues in these places may view your details to help you. They're all held to the same confidentiality standards.
8. How long we keep it

- Contracts and payment records: 7 years after the service ends
You can ask us to delete your dating profile and photos at any time before then, except for contracts and payment records we're required by law to keep. After the retention period, we delete or anonymise your information.
9. How we protect it
Your information is kept in access-controlled systems and only colleagues who need it for their work can see it. Data sent between our website and systems is encrypted. We review our technical and organisational safeguards regularly.
